ANA Distributes Funds to Families of Nepali Hostage Victims in Iraq

KATHMANDU, Feb. 27: At Hotel Blue Star in Kathmandu, Nepal, the Association of Nepalese in the Americas (ANA) held a program to distribute funds to the families of the hostage victims in Iraq. This effort was spearheaded by ANA and Nepalis across the globe collected more than US$ 22,500 (NRs 1,689,930). The complete list of donors is posted below.

On February 27, 2005 ANA members distributed 1 lakh 26 thousand rupees to each of nine families of the victims in Iraq. For one family, a half share was given to his immediate family while the other half was reserved for his wife currently in India. The outstanding funds will be distributed to the remaining three families, once their legal documents are finalized. A number of ANA executives, life members and supporters were present at the event.
